Lei MOLIN (Berg and Terblijt 1927 - Eindhoven 1990)
Molin's early work is influenced by impressionism. During his Valkenburg period he painted in oil, large, abstract canvases in exuberant colours, of which Karel Appel was a great example. In the 1960s Molin moved to Amsterdam. He joined the so-called Amsterdam Limburgers, of which Ger Lataster was also a member. In Amsterdam he came under the influence of Cobra and minimalism. He limited himself to abstract work, using the colors white, black and grey. From the 1980s, color returned to his works and he went through a particularly expressive period. Several of his works are displayed in museums.
