Rijswijk Artists Association Arti Shock

Arti Shock was founded as a Rijkswijk artists' association. This foundation arose from an initiative that had started in 1969 when a group of artists wanted to stop the demolition of Oud-Rijswijk. A few artists were then allowed to use the building of the old butcher's shop pending demolition. However, the butcher shop was never demolished and the municipality of Rijswijk then offered the Arti Shock group, which had been established in the meantime, to buy the property. An exhibition space can now be found in the old butcher's shop. Affiliated artists can exhibit here. In addition, the gallery is also a meeting place for artists and art-loving people.
