Powerful work by Frans Slager from 1927. The painting is signed at the top left and dated 1927. The appropriate title 'Wallflowers' is written in pencil on the back of the frame. The work itself is in excellent condition and, according to a note on the back, was restored in 1991. Presumably a new cloth was placed underneath the work to strengthen it. As far as I can see this is not glued, but only placed on the original frame for support. The frame has damage, see the photos. I leave it up to the new owner whether or not to post a new list.
