Society of Wood Engravers

The Society of Wood Engravers is an international group of artists who use wood engravings. The association was therefore established to promote this technique. The association has held an annual exhibition since its inception in 1920 that has attracted works by several notable artists, such as John and Paul Nash, Paul Gauguin, and David Jones. Due to an interruption of the war, the group changed. After a period of no exhibitions, the Society of Wood Engravers was revived in the 1980s. Since then, the association has built up an excellent reputation.
