Plate factory Ivora
In 1914, Ivo van der Want converted his pipe factory into a pottery factory for decorative pottery, first under the name Fa. P. van der Want Gzn and later known as Ivora. Because of the war and the bankruptcy of Rozenburg, many personnel were laid off. These ended up with Ivora, among others, and also took the style of Rozenburg with them. Many designs from this period are therefore related to the Rozenburg pottery. Ivora put his own stamp on the work by using a distinctive color palette for simple decoration. To do this, we looked at nature and organic elements. Most famous are the sets with painted violets. Ivora mainly produced biscuit tiles, decorative objects and plastics, all in small quantities.
