Peter BREMERS (Maastricht 1957)
At art school he developed a passion for three-dimensional art and experimented with light and sculpture. Light, color and form have always remained important themes in his work. When he met Andries Copier, Willem and Bernard Heesen at the Jan van Eyck Academy, Bremers was introduced to glass art. From the late 1980s he immersed himself in glassblowing techniques and the possibilities that glass offered for his art practices. Bremers is a world traveler and is inspired by his travels. His use of the (double) grail technique is well known, with which multiple layers of glass, both colored and clear, are combined. He also uses casting techniques.
