Matthijs Hage (1882-1961)

Matthijs Hage was born in The Hague in 1882. He died in 1961 in Laren. Hage lived and worked in The Hague, Amsterdam, Laren and from 1911 to 1924 in Eemnes. He had his studio on the Goijersgracht Zuid, near the White Mountains. He was a student of the Rijks Akademie in Amsterdam and painted, watercoloured, drew and sketched still lifes, heath landscapes and children's portraits. Was a member of the Association v BK Laren-Blaricum, taught his brother HA Hage and FJ Giltay.
