Henk Potters, born in 1924 in Oisterwijk, studied at the drawing academy of the Leerspreis in Tilburg and then at the art academy in Breda. In the first years of his artist life he did a lot of work as an illustrator for numerous magazines and magazines. He also made wall paintings and stained glass windows and became associated with the Efteling in Kaatsheuvel. This is where his life as a ceramist actually started, because he made clay-baked souvenirs designed in his own way. In 1953, a year after his marriage to Lies, he then lived in the Gasthuisstraat in Tilburg, he started his pottery workshop, which later developed into national fame due to his artistic talent and Lies' business approach. In 1955 the couple moved to Goirle and in 1962 to Oisterwijk. With a number of employees, the name and product fame of Potters Potters grew, where Henk did a lot of work in his private studio for countless assignments and where he also expressed himself by making a large number of special paintings. His broad artistic talents reached great heights in the 1970s and 1980s.Source: Metzemaekers
