Hans BUINING (Wijk aan Zee 1934)
graphic artist
Education:
Hans Buining studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague
Lives and works in The Hague
Hans Buining started etching at a later age. Buining uses a symbolic language in his graphic work that bears a certain resemblance to the work of Jan Montijn. However, this symbolic language is fairly universal, in southern France and northern Africa artists use similar figures in their work. Characteristic of Hans Buining's work is that he uses the material in such a way that it is interwoven with the performance. This is also the strength of his work. Buining's use of color is modest and in harmony with the image. Hans Buining's work is still in development, Buining's current work has a more narrative visual language, but the figuration is still well recognisable.
