Anna Ehrner (1948)

Anna Ehrner (1948)

Artist

Anna Ehrner is a designer best known for her designs for glassware at Kosta Boda. She started there in 1974 and since then she has made many popular collections. Basically her work is simplistic, tight and subtle. She uses color in an elegant way, like veils in the glass. In her work process, the gesture or the movement is often central. Ehrner studied at Konstfack in Stockholm, where she studied ceramics and glass under Bertil Vallien. The beginning of her career was difficult due to economic reasons and the fact that she was a woman. After a number of very successful designs, she soon gained more recognition. Later on she started designing sculptures in addition to utility glass.
