About the artist:
Wim R. Hoogstraten, born 'Leienaar', has lived and worked in Leiden all his (working) life. He attended the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
After having worked for a while as an illustrator for publishers, advertising agencies and companies, he strengthened himself in 1987 as an independent artist. In that early period Wim makes watercolors and paintings with sports people as the theme. From the early/mid 1990s the emphasis of his work has shifted to buildings and structures, portraits and landscapes.
His work has been exhibited in many places and has been acquired by various institutions, organizations and companies, as well as in private collections at home and abroad.
