Vadim Stein is a visual artist, art director and photographer born in the Ukraine in 1967.

With (Martha) Graham, American modern dance started building its own history, influencing artists from many different backgrounds and styles. She created a new language to which Stein adds his unmistakable voice; the investigation of the human form punctuated by dynamic poses and a masterful control of light.

These powerful images present world-class, professional dancers against solid, unadorned backgrounds and a simple black-and-white aesthetic - an unpretentious stage on which all the focus is on the figures as they theatrically twist, bend and contort themselves into seemingly impossible positions. His photographs are an invitation to the viewer to journey into an original and obsessive appreciation of beauty.
