Sam Parabirsingh (1943-2003) was born on October 30, 1943 in Curacao. From a young age he was busy drawing and sketching. Despite his love for drawing and painting, Sam decided to leave for the Netherlands at the age of 17. He attended teacher training college in Dongen.
He went on to study at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
