The oeuvre derives from a publication of 33 first edition lithographs in four colors, all completed for the final (6th) edition of The Situationist Times: International Parisian Edition, produced in the spring and autumn of 1967. Artists of these two movements, CoBrA and Figuration Narrative, make up the bulk of the contributors to this 6th and last issue.
Roland Topor (1938-1997) was a French illustrator, cartoonist, painter, writer, filmmaker, and actor. He was associated with the Situationist International (SI), a revolutionary avant-garde movement that emerged in the 1950s. Topor's work was deeply influenced by Situationist ideas, particularly the concept of "constructed situations" and the critique of modern capitalist society.
