The 2 works offered by Pim Schilt were made between 1960 and 1980. Image 1 is a ferry across the IJ with industry in the background. Image 2 the Schreierstoren. It is nice to see the many green areas that have completely disappeared today.
He was a pupil of Lense Elzinga. Was a painter, draftsman, graphic artist. He received his training at Ateliers'63' (Haarlem). He regularly stayed abroad, especially France, (1979-86 in Bras, Provence, later Védignat, Creuze). From 1970-96 he worked in Amsterdam. There were various exhibitions in France, including Marseille and Toulon. In recent years he was active as a graphic artist: (colour) linocuts: 'I remember Gambit' (chess players), tennis players ('ladies' singles', 'the duel'), 'the owl and the pussycat', 'Haven van Hoorn' etc.
Exhibitions in the Okura hotel and gallery Elisabeth den Bieman (Amsterdam). His work is in private collections in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, the USA and Japan. See also his entry at the RKD. The works offered are in good condition. A single pin hole is visible in the corner. The frames are simple but functional.
