-Dimensions: Frame, 30½ x 40½ x 2 cm. Sheet, 25 x 33 cm. Image, 22 x 30 cm.
-Provenance: From the estate of the Amsterdam painter, watercolorist, draftsman, gallery owner and art collector Rob Aussen (1938-2024), who died on January 22, 2024.
-Condition: In good condition. The paper of the drawing is somewhat yellowed and has spots and light wrinkles.

Information about the artist:
Otto Dingeman Dicke (Dordrecht, 3 May 1918 - ibid., 7 December 1984) was a Dutch visual artist, draftsman and illustrator, cartoonist, comic artist, illustrator of children's and other books and designer of mosaics for schools and churches.
-Education: Self-taught.
In the fifties Otto Dicke became known as an illustrator and cartoonist. He worked together with Cees Buddingh and illustrated books by Hans Bouma and Simon Carmiggelt. Later he became known for his free work, mainly drawings of landscapes, cityscapes, (nude) models and children.
From 1960 to 1981 he was a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts Rotterdam.
Otto Dicke made many drawings of Dordrecht and its surroundings. He was appointed honorary citizen of the municipality of Dordrecht on 6 January 1981. A square in Dordrecht was also named after him, the Otto Dickeplein.
