Naomi Okuya was born in 1930 in Ishikawa Prefecture. He graduated from Kanazawa College of Art. Okuya lived in Paris from 1965 to 1982. In 1965, he began participating in the Paris Biennale and has exhibited his work in international art and print exhibitions throughout Europe. In 1988, Okuya created a mural for the Okinawa Ocean View Hotel. His work has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan and abroad.
