  • Martin van Vreden (Olst, 1952) studied at the AKI in Enschede (1972-1977) after which he soon left for Amsterdam. In the nineties he spent a long time in Bardolino, Italy. He became known mainly as a collagist, graphic artist and painter of works with mostly floral motifs. Other recurring themes are: books, fish and amulets. In 2013 he hung up his paintbrush to start a gallery together with Pietje Tegenbosch. His work is still appreciated and can be found in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Noordbrabants Museum and in large institutional collections such as that of the Akzo Nobel Foundation. He also exhibited internationally at Muka Gallery, Auckland (NZ) in the Living Art Museum, Reykjavik but also closer to home in the Fodor Museum in Amsterdam.
