In 1949, in his first participation in a competition for Mexican painting, he won the silver medal, and then won two gold medals in 1950 and 1953. He represented Mexico in three biennials, in Chile, Japan, and England. It was also during this period that he received a Mexican scholarship to work in different art schools in France, Italy, and the Netherlands for two years. He also participated in one of the most important group exhibitions organized by the Museum Palace of Fine Arts "Masterpieces of Mexican Art", which traveled around the world for 15 years. Filcer continues to travel to Europe and settled in the Netherlands for twenty years, but he always returns to Mexico and many other countries to hold his many exhibitions. In 1988 he takes part in a group exhibition "Twenty Expressionist Artists" in the Grand Palais in Paris. In 1990 he exhibits in the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the museum. In 1994 he has his largest exhibition to date in the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Mexico City. This museum is the largest in Latin America, with its 2500 m2 exhibition space, in which the work of many years is exhibited. Today he lives in Mexico, but he continues to travel to attend his exhibitions. The number of his exhibitions has now exceeded 200. He paints the contradictions in man on both the social and economic as well as the religious level. He likes to paint his own experiences of everyday life and is always looking for a better future.
