Leentje Linders - The flying bicycle

Very nice framed etching by the Dutch artist Leentje Leenders. Dimensions with frame are 52x54cm. Signed, named and numbered in pencil under the image. The work is in excellent condition!
The artist/etcher Leentje Linders (° 1942) can enjoy great fame. She achieved this fame through her dynamic etchings about sports, but especially through her virtuoso etchings in which she incorporates all kinds of aspects of aviation and shipping. With her sense of beauty, perfection and creativity she knows how to unite the present and the past in her works of art that appeal to the imagination.
Her work is known beyond the Dutch borders. And those who often fly or work in aviation have undoubtedly become acquainted with her other passion: aviation.
She has worked on behalf of Fokker, Schiphol, KLM/Air France, Transavia, Martinair, the Association of Dutch Airline Pilots, John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the Royal Netherlands Navy, the Dutch and Norwegian Naval Air Service. Queen Beatrix is also one of her clients.
Her work is part of many collections, including the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, the Museum of Modern Art in Seoul and in Taipei, in the Caldic Collection and her artworks are also on board the ms Noordam of the Holland-America Line.
What is special about her working method is that she has found a modern application for the fifteenth-century etching technique that Rembrandt also worked with in his time. This combination of technique and her sense of aesthetics produces time-transcending, composite images.
