Artist: Christiaan Karel Appel (25 April 1921 - 3 May 2006) - Dutch painter, sculptor, and poet. He started painting very young and studied at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. He was one of the founders of the avant-garde movement CoBrA (Copenhagen (Co), Brussels (Br), Amsterdam (A)) active from 1948 to 1951.
Size (aprox.): 113 x 90 cm incl. frame and passe-partout; litho 76 x 56 cm
Hand-signed EA (bottom left) and Appel (bottom right)EA (épreuve d'artiste) or Artist Proof are proofs that are not a part of the numbered edition and are usually kept by the artist as a record of the print’s development (personal collection or special artist’s proof edition).
