Inspired by archaeological excavations in Reusel.
A piece of history. In the soil around the Gothic church that was demolished in 1897, remains could be found. It is mainly about the settlement history of Reusel.
During the excavations, burial grounds are exposed. The oldest burial ground appears to contain about twenty graves. Anthropomorphic graves have been found. These are burials without a coffin, in a pit shaped like the body.
This painting has beautiful colours and one can clearly see the shape of the human remains.
