Artist Johannes Koenraad van Hunnik was born in Rotterdam in 1925. In 1945 he worked at the Maarten Toonder Studios and became famous for his images on bowls and cups.
The tile plateau/tray Very beautifully detailed multi-coloured tile tableau/tray of a historical scene/spectacle from the mid-1920s of a farrier's forge/workshop with horse. The tile tableau consists of 6 beautiful glazed tiles of 15 x 15 cm, in a hardwood frame/tray. The tiles are intact and in very good condition (minimal signs of wear).
