Bound edition of the monograph, written by Mankes' wife A. Mankes – Zernike and RN Ronald Holst. Contains all 25 original heliogravures, all signed in the plate and all in perfect condition.
Jan Mankes was only 31 years old. His oeuvre, created between 1907 and 1918, includes approximately 150 paintings, mostly small formats, some 100 drawings and over 40 sheets of graphics, mainly etchings and woodcuts. Jan Mankes has gone down in art history as “Holland’s most tranquil painter”.
The work of Jan Mankes can currently be seen in a beautiful double exhibition in Arnhem and Heereveen.
