Jan Jans (1872-1943) Although the impressionist painter Jan Jans was an Amsterdammer in heart and soul, he saw the landscape art of the Hague School as his great example. His most popular subjects were dune landscapes, river landscapes and harbours. Jans was originally a house and decorative painter, but around 1907 he chose an artistic career. As a member of St. Lucas and The Independents, he frequently took part in exhibitions in our capital.
The work is framed in a handmade wooden frame with ornaments. The work is signed lower right. The artwork is in good condition. Provenance: From private property.
