Johannes (Jan) Battermann (Amsterdam, 8 januari 1909 – Amsterdam, 19 januari 1999) was een Nederlands graficus, kunstschilder, illustrator, aquarellist en tekenaar.[1]
Battermann woonde en werkte in Amsterdam, was leerling van Kunstnijverheidsschool Quellinus van 1939-1940; van de Rijksnormaalschool van 1940-1941; en van de Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten 1941-1943 en van 1946-1950. Ook heeft hij les gehad van onder anderen Willem van den Berg, Jaap Luttge en Gerard Westermann. Behalve schilder van expressionistisch en non-figuratief werk in gouache en olieverf, was Battermann graficus en maker van een flink aantal ex libris.
Hij verkreeg de volgende prijzen: de Gouache Prijs, de Sportprijs, Euro exlibris ereprijs, en de Polen Ereprijs.
