Een prachtig 19e -eeuws genre schilderij ( "de liefdesbrief" , olieverf op doek ) van de Belgische kunstschilder Henri Jacques Bource (1826-1899). Belgische School. Met lijst. Gesigneerd rechts onder. De conditie van het kunstwerk is redelijk goed (lichte craquelé). Het werk is te bezichtigen bij Kunsthandel Martins te Wolvega en wordt geleverd met een echtheidscertificaat.
Biografie:
Henri-Jacques Bource staat bekend als een kundige schilder van landschappen, zeegezichten en portretten. Maar zijn grote talent was om het dagelijkse leven van vissers en hun familie te schilderen. Henri Jacques Bource was een Belgische schilder (geboren in Antwerpen). Hij was een leerling van Dyckmans en Wapper aan de Koninklijke Academie in Antwerpen. Hij schilderde ook in Parijs. Hij won een medaille in Den Haag in 1857 en exposeerde in de Paris Salon vanaf 1875. Hij was een schilder van historie en genre scenes en reisde door Europa om regionale landschappen te schilderen. Zijn werken hangen in musea in Brussel, Dublin, Den Haag, Luik en Sheffield.
