Grassère was a Dutch painter. He completed his artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Later he studied for a while in Paris. One of his most important teachers at the academy in Antwerp was Isidore Opsomer.
He expressed himself, especially in the beginning, in a figurative - sometimes somewhat poetic - expressionistic way of painting. Later he broadened his palette and painted mainly abstractly.
