About
Manders attends the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven. After a disagreement with a teacher, he left the course prematurely in 1961. He started working as an architectural draftsman, later as a graphic designer and illustrator. After a successful exhibition of his watercolors and drawings in 1977, he made the transition to independent artistry. In the beginning, his subject is the traditional, unspoilt Brabant landscape. He built up a great reputation with it, but at a certain point it was no longer sufficient. Manders starts experimenting with color, style and working method. When his studio burned down in 1995, this was the decisive factor for the change. As a starting point for his new work, he uses his memories of nature, but also of people or deep-sea fish. He abstracts, uses the interplay of lines or contrasting areas of color.

The work can be picked up in Borne, Overijssel. This is only possible by appointment. Shipping is also possible (registered). It will of course be packaged very carefully, but at the buyer's risk, a courier is preferred given the vulnerability.
