on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM).

Info: Lifeboat skipper C. van den Berg and his daughter were the models for this statue. The original statue on the
Queen Wilhelmina Boulevard in Noordwijk aan Zee, was created on behalf of the municipality of Noordwijk by
Charlotte D. Baroness van Pallandt on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the
Royal North and South Holland Rescue Society in 1974. This as a tribute to all rescuers.
Unveiled on September 25, 1976 by the widow of Herman Vink who died on November 24, 1919
with Jan Cramer and Leendert Hellenberg who lost their lives when the KW47 ran aground during a rescue operation.
