Bep Knoop - Rouge - Sold

Bep Branca Wildstrom-Knoop (born Amsterdam, August 12, 1938), known as Branca Knoop, is a well-known Dutch painter.[1] Branca Knoop studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In addition to painting, Knoop graduated in drawing and printmaking.[2] After completing her training at the academy in Antwerp, she has produced works in several countries, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France ect. Meeting various cultures has a major influence on Knoop's work.[3] She is currently working from Breda.
Style & Development: For Knoop, among other things, her (Jewish) origin[3] and her love for classical music are an inexhaustible source of inspiration.[2] Partly because of this, her paintings are narrative works,[2] full of feelings, expression, spontaneity[4] and zest for life. For Knoop, a good drawing is the basis for the total work of art, from there she completely lets go of the frames and the end result is created.[2] Over the years she has continued to develop her own style and she knows how to capture light in the darkness through the use of color[5] and thereby develop her own distinctive stamp. This resulted in collaboration with several gallery owners who have exhibited and sold her work. This is one of the reasons why Knoop regularly has assignments and exhibitions in various galleries in the Netherlands and abroad.[5]
