Union of modern artists (UAM)

The UAM was a group of French architects, designers and decorative artists. They rejected the traditional luxury crafts as presented by the Société des Artistes-Décorateurs and the Art Deco movement. The members themselves embraced industrial materials such as glass and steel, emphasizing functionality over ornament.
