Salon des Artistes Français

IN 1667 an exhibition was organized in the Louvre by the Royal Academy. From this the Société des Artistes Français arose and still exists today. Many well-known artists who have had an influence have been members of the Société. An exhibition, the Salon des Artistes Français, has been held annually by the Société since 1901, and continues to do so today with some interruptions during the war.
