Founded in 1928 - dissolved in 1930
The artists' group Nervia wanted to bring Walloon art, which had faded into the background because of Flemish expressionism, to the fore again. They did this by supporting promising young artists. They rejected the academy of the fine arts, but also the wild experimentation. Nevertheless, they were influenced by the first group of the Latem School. The members of Nervia paid great attention to the composition. Peace and balance play a major role in their works. In addition to the members, artists who were not members of Nervia were also allowed to participate in the exhibitions that were organised.
