Neo-Impressionism
Many Impressionists felt that Impressionism had gone too far in dematerializing objects and that it had become too ephemeral. Neo-impressionism still has the same subjects as impressionism, urban entertainment, industrialization, the works are less spontaneous. Neo-Impressionism uses a painting technique in which no strokes or planes are applied to the canvas, but dots, pointillism, or stripes, divisionism. The dashes or dots are no longer mixed on the palette, but pure colors are placed next to each other in combinations. Neo-impressionism had its peak until the early twentieth century.
