Founded in 1920 - dissolved in 1969
Kunstkring het Zuiden was an artists' society that was founded in Vlissingen. A small movement arose around this circle, and its founder Gerard Jacobs, which is called Scheldeluminism. The aim was economic revival and a more vibrant cultural life. The luministic style used within this group, following Jacobs, contained bright shades of blue, green, orange and purple.
