Founded in 1848 - dissolved in 1860
In the middle of the nineteenth century, this group of graphic artists from The Hague was one of the first groups to call themselves an 'etching club'. Although the founders Jan Weissenbruch, Reinier Craeyvanger, Lambertus Hardenberg and Johannes Adrianus van der Drift 'started' the group in 1848 by making founding sets, the group rarely goes public.
The group was followed in the Netherlands in the form of De Nederlansche Etsclub (1885-1896) and the De Haagse Etsclub, founded in 1984.
